Wespi de Meuron Romeo architetti is a Ticino practice based at Caviano on Lake Maggiore, widely known for spare, material-led houses rooted in the building traditions of the region. At Casa Sassello, above Brissago, they rebuilt a derelict 1950s house into two distinct halves: a closed, archaic lower level and an upper one opened to the lake through floor-to-ceiling glass, joined by a single door.
