A modernist hillside villa near Barcelona

Set on a hillside on the edge of a nature park near Sant Andreu de Llavaneres, half an hour north of Barcelona and ten minutes from the Maresme beaches, Barcelona Sanctuary sits among pine trees with views over forested hills out to the Mediterranean.

Designed and completed in 2012 by architects Mies Onofre and Roel Materné, the modernist house takes the form of two white cubes stretching across several levels, connected by internal and external staircases, with white walls, natural stone floors, glass and stainless steel running throughout, broken by occasional strong colour accents, and a rooftop terrace looking out to the sea.
