Architecture by Patrick Bouchain · Sleeps 8

Cabins on stilts and a restored farmhouse in Burgundy

Set in the hills outside the small village of Iguerande in the Saône-et-Loire region of Burgundy, surrounded by meadows where Charolais cattle graze and lonely valleys leading down to the Loire, La Colline du Colombier sits a short drive from the medieval villages and Romanesque churches of the region.

Initiated in 2008 by Michel and Marie-Pierre Troisgros of the three Michelin-starred Maison Troisgros in collaboration with French architect Patrick Bouchain, the estate divides across a former animal tower now housing the restaurant, three carefully renovated holiday homes within the original farmhouse and dovecote, and three 60 square metre Cadoles, wood and steel cabins on stilts that float above the meadows, all built from cork, hemp, sheep's wool, and woven jute.
