Bargemon · Provence
Set on a hillside above the village of Bargemon in the Haut Var, the hinterland of the Côte d'Azur, Villa Jones sits among olive groves and woodland with views south to the Mediterranean and north to the Col du Bel Homme ridge.
Designed by Edward Jones of London firm Dixon Jones Architects with his architect wife Margot, the villa was completed in 2003 and later won a RIBA European Award, the long, narrow form following the topography so every room opens south to the view, anchored by a two-storey central loggia and a 60-metre vine-clad pergola.
