Luxi Bia sits in the Sulcis, a wild, little-touristed corner of southern Sardinia, far from the island's better-known coast. It's history and quiet in equal measure: an abandoned nineteenth-century village slowly being brought back to life, surrounded by raw countryside and old traditions. Within twenty to thirty minutes there are beaches ranging from wild coves to long stretches of white sand, and the hosts leave a self-written guide to archaeological sites, local producers and hiking trails. The nearest airport is Cagliari, about thirty-five kilometres away.

Casa Corte is one of three homes at Luxi Bia, a long-term restoration project led by Kyre and Ivano of Pretziada Studio, who describe it as an ongoing experiment in contemporary ruralism, honouring Sardinian architecture and material culture while opening it up to new ways of living. Everything is built or restored using natural, locally sourced materials, run on solar power and well water. Casa Corte itself rises over three levels, with locally fired terracotta tiles, original juniper beams and lime-plastered walls, furnished with custom pieces, curated antiques and works from Pretziada's own design collection. Its private courtyard, bordered by lavender and herbs, has a wood-burning stove and an outdoor barbecue. There's no television and no pool, by design, so guests properly disconnect. A small, rotating selection of local wine, olive oil and preserves is available to buy during your stay.
