Es Castell · Menorca
Located in the small port town of Es Castell on the quieter eastern tip of Menorca, ten minutes from the historic harbour town of Maó and a world away from the developed western beaches, BOS-COS sits in a part of the island bathed in the sharp Mediterranean light, shaped by the coastal air and the slow rhythm of the changing seasons, with the ficus-shaded courtyard and upper terrace positioned to capture both the late-day sun and the shade.
Reimagined by Madrid-based Febrero Studio as a homestay for slow living, BOS-COS preserves the spirit of a house full of memory, working in lime-washed walls, regional stone and terracotta, original tiles and beams, and worn wooden doors cleaned but never polished, with new additions layered in to feel like a quiet continuation rather than a break in time. The closed fireplace in the living room was opened to connect the surrounding spaces; a former service yard became the pool courtyard with its stone walls and central tree intact; narrow openings frame views, thresholds act as moments of pause, and the central patio works as a breathing organ for the house, bringing light, air, greenery, and the sound of water to every surrounding room.
